sorry to be a pain.....



  Clio 200
but I'm confused on whats best for my clio 172 cup.....
I'd like better low-mid range power. do I go for.....................

1) chip / remap.

2) full manifold back exhaust / ign filter.

3) decat on standard exhaust, ign filter and ????

4) something else ( I only have arround £300 so nothing silly like turbo etc..)

Get the intake manifold modified thats about £170 then decat (from free (assuming you smash up the stock one) to £60 for a bit of pipe to £170 for a proper sportsdecat) then a panel filter for £40 or so. Then save a few quid for a remap.

Gains for tunning the Clio engine arn't huge gaisn from the manifold mofiying depends on how bad the stock one has been made some are better than other but regardless you'll get some gains.

With those bits I'd say being as stock engine is 176hp or so I'd say 10hp with a remap. A 182 exhaust manifold is a good idea before a remap though as well and if you want to do this then its £80 ~£250 when they come up for sale then you need to have a cat pipe made up to fit so don't bother buying a decat until you've decided if you want a 182 xexhaust maniofl on as well as a 182 manifold on a 172 rear exhaust sytem means you have to have a custom cat pipe made up to fit.

Maniofl off is easy you have to take it off to change the plugs.

With just £000 thouhg perosnally I'd just do a track day or two much more fun and you'll be able to learn the limits of the car better and with an instructor learn how to made the car quicker than an extra 20hp or so spent on tunning.

It should help all through the rev range. But all engiens are slightly different also sounds etc can affect what you think th engine is doing.

I'm in a similar situation to you mate, dont want to put too much into the car i WILL NOT get back, i'm gettin the inlets done (when ben gets his finger out his arse) and a remap from mr murray, about 400 all in and im hoping for 10hp gain. :D
