Soundbars and 2.1 systems

  M135i
Im looking into getting a sound bar or a 2.1 system.

I'm hacked off with the rubbish sound from my TV. I don't want 5.1 surround as I only watch films now and again. I have some Tritton AX Pros for gaming.

I've got a budget of about at the absolute max.

What can anyone recommend? HD sound is desirable too.

I've looked at Samsung HW-D450 and the Onkyo HTX 22-HD so far.

I've got the previous model Onkyo (the HD not HDX) and it's been really good tbh.

I'm just looking at getting a new TV which will probably mean a sound system as well.. (as you say the sound is crap on thse new TVs)
I'm probably going with the 2.1 or soundbar option.
I've spotted that Panasonic have a soundbar that can convert to a 2.1 system that looks ok, http://www.richersounds.com/product/soundbars/panasonic/schtb15/pana-schtb15

Also theres a nice looking Pioneer 2.1 system but doesn't seem readily available http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00568G0VY/?tag=cliospnet01-21

I quite like the look of the tall thin speakers if i can wall mount them either side of the TV.

The other option of mine is another pioneer system but again doesn't seem widely available, its a proper albeit slimn amp & sub so should do all i want. http://www.pioneer.eu/uk/products/42/100/42/HTP-SL050/index.html but from what i've found it's a few quid too much i think :-(

I've got time thoughm still can't decide on a tv!! lol sony hx723/nx723 or a samsung whos model escapes me.. but that another story!.

I'd be interested in what you decide on.

i have a samsung airtrack thingy 2.1 soundbar, not sure of the model number but i am well impressed with it. The sub being wireless is very handy and the sound (particularly speech) is improved 10x over the standard speakers in my samsung LED tv. I only paid £199 as it was in a recent sale at best buys in rotherham :approve:
