With regards to timing I would take it to a specialist on the site.

have you genuinely decided on cams and ITB's? Or is it more of a thought of doing?

your looking at 1K for cams, fitting and map alone. 2-2.5K for bodies plus a few niggles you'll come by.
your nearing 4K. Depends how healthy your engine is, 215-220hp? Around there.
But you'll need arp bolts, which involves someone fitting those if you can't do it yourself.

Just a thought ATM fella but thanks for the input :). Is it really that much in price? But then I suppose that it's a pretty good power gain coming from a little hot hatch.

Yup, it's a rather expensive choice, that without even looking into an ECU to run them with.

everyone loves the 'idea' of doing it, when I had my ph1 i always wanted to do it, but in reality, I couldn't justify spending that on the engine, and the chances are, once you've done that, the internals of the engine would start to play up taking the extra hp.

Yeah I see exactly what you mean. It always seems a good idea when in your head, then when you put it on paper it's terrible haha. Maybe better off pushing money into a meg.

Or just enjoy the Clio ;) lol.

Couple of mods, and enjoy. Just maintain it, regular oil service etc and enjoy it not being a money pit lol.

With all due respect I would like to suggest you perhaps look elsewhere for the ITB's mate. :) Obviously your choice but I personally believe there are much better options.

Oakley, when I get my car back you'll have to jump in for a ride mate. I'm running ITB's and cams (although I'll also be running a whole lot more when it comes back!) It's not a cheap thing to do as already stated. And realistically, you'll be looking around the 200-210bhp mark if you've got a strong engine. If you have anymore questions then ask away (if you decide it's the route you want to take).

yeah im on the hunt elsewhere, where did you get yours from? I bought my engine off tdf with cams already in it, so thought I would take the car back to them but they don't seem interested in taking my money lol. im deffo looking at the 120mm trumpets tho :)

My first ITB kit was the Jenvey-based setup from K-Tec. Sadly there were a few problems afterwards and various 'specialists' (including the one you mentioned) made a bit of a hash of trying to get things fixed. The bottom line was that I wasted thousands :( I now have sold my K-Tec ITB kit (which is a good kit by the way, my problem wasn't with the kit!) and have a custom Jenvey setup being put together alongside my forged, high-compression engine build. This is being done by Fred at BTM.

I'm currently in talks with mb Motorsport for the itbs, same sort of price as tdf 3 to 3.5k. What's btm like and where are they?
& wow so what bhp u hoping to be pushing out when urs is done?
& yea so called speacialist ain't so special these days are they lol

Very true, mate. I am now ultra-careful who I trust with my car! I learned my lesson the hard way LOL! :banghead:

BTM is very well-known and respected. Fred is the owner and they are based near Birmingham (so not too far away, and really easy to get to). It's worth a bit of effort and travelling to get the job done properly. As for the power I'll be pushing out... I really don't know mate. I would imagine it will be on a par with the low boost turbo'd cars, but with less torque. I have complete confidence in Fred at BTM so have basically just given him my Trophy, a rough specification I'd like and then let him get on with it. LOL! :D

yea I know the feeling of job not being done properly after spending a wedge of dough! but its the beauty of forums deffo this one people are forthcoming with help unlike a lot of forums ive been on, so I think ill be looking into btm aswell then I think well im going down the itb route 100% an have cams already, I don't really wanna turbo her to be honest but want to try an get what power I can from her, so after cams & itbs what else could I do to her that's not going to cost the earth an not turbo lol

Though it would make you laugh a bit lol, wow awesome dude bargain there then :), sounds like we both been spending and got bargains with our purchases (mine will hopefully be turning up today) :). Be very careful who does your cam belt make sure that they got the specific tools for a 1*2 as their are plenty of nightmare cambelt stories on here with cowboys doing them (look at what happend to your ph1) so please make sure you do your home work as to who does it. P.s i don't want your car in next time to change the engine lol.
And yes Fred at btm is probably one of the best guys for any Clio job dude i'm friends with him on fb (his name is Fred Hopkins) top bloke.
