Spacers for phase 2 172???

I've just bought a set of Turinis for my phase 2 172. I have wanted to spcae the wheels since day 1 as I always thought they looked a bit 'in' LOL when looking from behind.
What would be the optimum spacing to take the wheels out to 182 spec or would even further out be better?
I have checked Tweeks but they all require a phone call. Who makes the best 172 spacers?

  172 cup'd extreme
turinis are a wider offset than then mk2 172 wheels giving the cup its wider track so will look better no need for spacers

ahh.. but i have a cup with turinis and they look to 'in' lol at the back, im getting some 20mm H&R spacers all round boosting the 40mm open rear track over the 172 to 60mm wider, phat + getting H&R`s coilovers also so phat and low.

h&r do good stuff, bit confusing as to which type i need but im gonna give them a call first, probably my next mods after fitting my hillpower kit this weekend

hope this helps

Thanks for that Megs. Did you see the post about the tints for £115?
When you call tomorrow can you ask how much 2 sets will cost as I would still be interested in a set if there were no issues with rubbing.

ive got turinis (from a cup) on my 172, fit fine.
im running apex springs (40mm) and when a 215/40/16 tyre on the back got some rubbing.

if your going to lower your car, think 20mm each side will be way way to much!!

Sounds like you've already put my plans into action Howie. My next mod was to be Apex after a de-cat next week.
So you think I should stick with the Turinis as they are, no spacers?

Will any spacers fit/will I need any spacers Fred if I am fitting the Turinis?
What is the difference in offset between standard and Turinis?

std wheel = ET48
cup wheel = ET 38

the number is in mm, and is measured from the centre line of the wheel

now this is the bit you have to get your brain around!!

ET60 would mean the wheel would be really far in to the arch
ET10 would mean it would stick out of the arch

if you put 10mm spacers on a std 172, you'd get the same effect as bolting on ET38 wheels

you get it now??
