Spare Wheel Build

Car  White Sti Hatch
I seen i think it was Foxy who done it and theres a few others too i think, ne way im looking to do the same thing as i need all my boot space only thing is ive never had a sub in my car so i have no idea whats really need.

The basics i know are Sub (duh) amp and a wiring kit but i dunno what to look for can some one help me out ?

Cheers

Depends what you're after and your budget. Active subs are a good start if you don't already have an amp. Check out the vibe cbr10/12s.

Yeah ive looked at that mate and i know what i need wood wise etc but im on about the actual Setup its self i have no idea what im looking for in size of sub etc thats where im wanting the help ;)

I listen to more Punk stuff (rise against wilhelm scream...incubus aswell) and im just looking for a bit of bass i have no idea about the diffrence between subs like enclosed open blah blah id need it dumbed down a bit lol

or what i found with my first sub is if you go onto caraudiosecurity.com or something along them lines they will sell you a bundle, which will have the sub, amp and wirin kit and basicalli u just find the sub u want with the power u want

i do believe smaller woofers give more of a punchy bass (recommended for rock/punk/indie music) I'll soon be running an 8" in my boot build. (Not a clio but i'll find the link for you)

Yeah ive looked around there but im still confused about it all to be honest do i want a big sub like 12" or a smaller one, do i got for a 1kw or larger etc etc thats where i need the help

depends wot music u like to listen to and whether u want massive bass or just punchy as said above,if you want the car to shake, my 1000watt 12 pioneer does a very good job of that

Theres mine mate
No need for a silly power one. It's more the box it's in. My friends just got a jl audio w1v2 10" woofer in a custom built round box (to fit inside the spare wheel of his meggy) I'll post pictures tomorrow once we fit it all.

Cheers mate.....Yeah im wanting something small but that will still give me a good bass throughout the car..What would you say to get power wise ?? also when looking at amps what do you do get an amp at the same power rating of the sup or go bigger smaller ????

to be honest if you're struggling for space i'd get a shallow mount woofer (you can hide it in the wheel well. I'm getting a pioneer shallow mount 8" for mine (only have around 3" of height. But there are a couple of shallow mount 10s and 12s on the market. As for the wheel well build speak to taylor...she seem to know her stuff.

vibe stuffs pretty good. Never heard anything bad about them. Get an autoleads wiring kit everything you need pretty much

i'd go with autoleads stuff. www.caraudiodirect.com should have them.
or local halfrauds. Just wired my mates jl in, sounds awesome. pics to follow]

yeh it's pretty slick. Having problems with his headunit though. He's running dual screens in the back for his kids and the cableing on his sony unit keeps packing up.

i got the pc4-20 wiring kit for mine, I myself am running a jbl 75.4 amp (4 channel) great for the money, I havn't heard much about the speakers though.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, want to do this to my car. Anyone got a progress thread or any advice on it at all please? Thanks!
