spark plug spanner

Does anyone know if its true that a special spark plug removal tool is required to extract the plugs from a Clio mk2 1.2 engine please and if so where I can get one?

I think you can use a long socket wrench?

It's not a special tool, it's just a funny size compared to other cars.

i used a standard spark plug socket on my grande,
worked fine,

the newer engines need extra long one's it either a 14mm or 16mm one but can't remember i'm sure it 14mm

Deep 14mm socket, extension and rachet and a magnet to get the plugs out once loose !!

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES. SOMEONE WHO HAS A HAYNES MANUAL TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE THAT THEY STATE THERE IS A SPECIAL DEEP SOCKET NEEDED FOR THE 1.2 ENGINE ONLY AND THAT THERE SHOULD BE A PLASTIC TOOL ATTACHED TO THE ENGINE SOMEWHERE NEAR THE THING THAT REPLACED THE DISTRIBUTOR ON MODERN CARS WHATEVER THATS CALLED. YOU UNCLIP IT AND USE IT TO PRISE OFF THE PLUG CAPS BUT I DONT SEEM TO HAVE ONE.

what engine is it? 1.2 16v?

mines a 1.2 8v, just pull the leads off, and use a spark plug remover to take the plugs out, lol
