Speakers 2002 Cup

I want to upgrade my speakers on my 172 Cup without moving or modifying the interor, it needs to look standard but sound good.

What are good speakers for the fronts? Some that will fit very easy with no mods?

How about the back? new shelf and 6x9s? or are there any decent spekers that fit into the original holes?

Im after a quality sound not too loud.

Any good on-line ICE shops?

Scott

Scott, I got some MBQuart PSD which are absolutely superb! Because I have a sub in hte back and have really good front components I disconnected the reaer speakers as theyd ruin the sound. Unless you open the boot you cant tell they are there!

Are they 5.25 components?

What sub you got, has anyone got one of them stealth boxes especially for clios to fit in the boot?

I had it all done specially and they are very expensive im afraid. MB quart also do a reference range which are the RSD which are also superb and are about £200 for the front components I think.

Ive got a Rockford fosgate sub but have had to screw it down as it was sliding everywhere when I scream it round corners!! I didnt know about a stealth box?

Danny - its a superb difference. As I love music its the best money Ive EVER spent!

but Ive got a new Sony active black and was told theres no current adaptor for it and it was a lot more than £175!

If there is one then someone gets fcuked up at a certain audio shop in Oxford...

or its PC9-101 and PC9-205

if it has a 3.5mm jack in the back (and it does) it will work

I have put Focal Polyglass 136V components in my Cup.

They sound much better than the standard items. Cost was £120.00

Got a Nacamichi stereo in as well for the moment until i get something else.

Scott. you need to modify the door card slightly as they are a deep speaker but only takes a couple of minutes. Sorting out the wiring to the crossovers takes the time but its easy to do.

Cuptastic. The Nak sounds great but if you are giving the old Cup a bit of stick every time it hits 5K it skips. Sent the unit off to be checked and its ok. Local ICE dealer have made some support brackets at the back but it still does it from time to time. Something to do with how they mount the laser.

I have decided to leave the standard unit in and go for bucket seats, harnesses and a rollcage as i dont really listen to it anyway.

The tweeters are a tight fit but will go in.

I used the black sticky they supply to hold the speaker grilles on with.

Just enough to keep them in place and does not make a mess if you need to take them out.
