SPEAKERS "POPPING"....please help

Hi all.
Recently fitted an AMP, set of full range in the front..a SUB... and kept the existing tweeters.
The FRONT speakers and SUB are connected to the AMP as normal, my problem is that when I first switch my system on OR.....flash someone with my headlights I get a loud "popping sound from my front right TWEETER!!!

It annoys the crap out of me....and when the system is played LOUD.....can be quite scary!!
could this be down to a POOR earth???
The Amp is currently under the drivers seat..earthed to what I THINK is bare metal!
ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.

When you say you think bare metal did you not check? If its earthed on painted metal then yeah sand the paint away and try again. otherwise check you're wiring and if possible swap to a different tweeter for a few days, see if you can find some-one near by with a spare set. If you're in Manchester I could lend you a tweeter to test?
