Speakers.

  Italian 3.2 V6
After some speakers to replace standard speakers. I'm just after something abit better.. Not after anything hardcore and don't want to spend loads. Decent base, treble and quality..

Any thoughts on what to go for? Don't really know what I'm looking for and what good value for money in this department?

Also must be same fitting to standard gear.

My Kenwood 6x9s, £20 posted :p. Ha ha. Seriously, i (and i think a lot of people on here) have the Pioneer TS-Q131C in the front. Made to fit, 13cms straight into the doors and the tweeters fit straight into under the grills on dash. Im a big fan of Pioneer so id suggest them. Ive got some Pioneer TS-A1303i for the rear cards but still havent fitted them. Hope this may have helped a bit mate :).

Vibe speakers are awesome. they do a nice front set with mids tweeters and crossovers, fitted a set in my sisters MG ZR a few months back. Very nice sound.

depends on how good a quality you want? if u are will to pay a little more and put a bit more time in you could think about doing sound proofing round the speakers and mounting them on small mdf rings instead of the plastic as it makes the mid woofers more punchy and sound better

2 tweeters on dash, 2 speakers in door, 2 speakers in rear cards.

Mine were £70 for front and £35 for rear.

I like the TS-Q131C :) found a set for £100 :S

what's the spec of standard speakers? Just to get an idea of how much better these are?

Standard head unit will be ok won't it? As I don't want to change that! So I don't want speakers which will be too good for the unit.. If u get me..

speaker size is 5.25inch on both front and rear doors, the pioneer components that are especially made for renault which are plug and play are around 80 quid i think and just get some half decent coaxials for the back 30-50 quid pioneer, alpine, hertz

I've got a set of Hertz components for sale, very good sound quality! Have a nice kick to them too, but like all speakers they will perform better if mounted on MDF baffles.

Also have a cheaper component set, made by EDGE. Not even close to the quality of the hertz set, but still alot better than standard.

PM me if interested.

Not sure of the standard speaker spec, but if it helps i can tell you they're s**t lol.

Are you going to be amping them, or just running off the HU?

standard speakers will be around 15w rms at most the new components will sound much better but ul props have to take the dash off if you go for anything else than the pioneers coz ul have to wire in the crossover, the headunit will power them but getting a aftermarket headunit will power them a bit better. id really advise on the mdf baffles though as this will really increase the bass reproduction of the woofers

Don't think im trying to sell those speakers to you again lol, but the Hertz set come with inline drivers. Basically theres a box that connects each woofer and tweeter, meaning theres no need to join together at crossovers.

Just cut old wires, and join to new wires! I managed to fit the tweeters without removing the dash, but it was quite tricky as there wasn't alot of wire to play with.

is there a set same as pioneers but just the speakers and not dash tweeters? For rear . . .plug and play too

Why plug and play? All you would need to do to fit another set, is cut off the connector and join to the new wires. Any set of Coaxials will do

i dont think there is mate i looked around for some they do some coaxial customer fit ones but there 17inch :/

custom fit for the rear is a waste of time companies wont do it,all it is is cut off the terminal block and fit new terminals

cos I like things to be simple, thats like saying the same for front set . . . why make things hard for yourself when they dont need to be

It would take you no longer than 2 minutes.. Completely different to the front set.

Lol @ 20w! So they should easly be better then being 180w!

As said I don't want to replace standard head unit. Just speakers but just straight swap which these pioneer's seem to be.

So there easy to swap?

What about the back? What do I go for which will match the front?

MDF baffles..? What are these? I would be Interested if there cheap enough and will still make the job a basic swap!

mdf baffles are simply small mdf rings, curently your standard speakers are mounted on plastic behind the door grill, but being mounted to plastic means some of the power is just wasted vibrating the plastic. putting a mdf baffle/ ring in for the speaker to mount too will give a much stronger base and will mean more of the power/movement of the woofer will go into giving you a punchier output.
