Speed limiting

  Clio v6

When automatic speed limiting is invented, ( via GPS etc ) would new drivers be unable to go over the speed limit in any area.?

Is this idea even possible with todays technology?

I recall R plates being used for the first year after passing your test. Restricted to 45mph maximum ( or something like that )

If the car isnt electronically limited, could you be fined the instant you go above the limit? ie ; just have your bank account debited automatically without argument?

Dash, whats to stop me disconnecting the GPS system and speeding like fcuk everywhere I go ?

There will be no speed cameras cause everyone is restricted .. no point, there will be no traffic cops.. woop..

Trust me it aint hard to hack any system they come up with..

Example of N.I. regulation

The maximum permitted speed for any vehicle displaying R plates is 45 mph, irrespective of whether or not the vehicle is being driven by a restricted driver.

yes and if you disconnected the gps you would be fined too. they arent stupid. there would proably be a way to beat it, but thats the same with all laws

Yeah, but you keep the GPS system powered up at home and when the plod ask you where you were you say you were parked up at home. If there are no speed cameras then theres no evidence.

If the government did instigate a system like this, every driver in the UK would be banned within a week! Especially if they want to do you for going 1 MPH over. Mind you that would solve the traffic congestion problems as everyone would have to take the bus.

Ok, fair enough but if they were going to there would be laws to do with tampering the device, couple that with specs cameras which monitor your movements. yo cannot escape the blackbox would use linux so it would never develop a fault
