if there the palmer sport cup racer ones they havn't got a cut to take center caps. And I know for a fact the £30 ones off ebay dont fit lol

  172 cup
yes I know there 2118's but are they the cup racer ones . . . 43 offset? 15 x 7 inch? reinforced wheel . . .

  172 cup
nope the cup racer ones are 2118's. Spoke to the guys at speedline regarding the same subject a few weeks back and they confirmed that they dont make a center cap to fit themas the wheel isn't machined to take them

Ive got the 38 offset 2118's, and the standard speedline centre caps do fit, had to modify the centre caps a bit but they do look alot better with them.

Eh?

Think what you're on about are the palmersport ones.

These arent the cup racer ones. They were made for the palmer trackday cars, with et43.

The cup racers used 2020's, similar offset to cup wheels.

After a while they started using the alloy 2118's as the 2020's cost so much to replace and were pretty fragile in a pile up.

with a 38 offset they will not be the cup racer wheels

Yea thats right, but people say the centre caps dont fit any 2118's. Ive modified the centre caps to fit on mine, i would think they can be made to fit on the cup racer ones too.

I could be wrong tho!

  172 cup
well how did you modify them? I know on my wheels there are no groves what so ever to accept them . . .

so one minute the 2118's arn't cup racer wheels and then they are . . .make your mind up fella

you started your post saying 2118's arn't cup racer wheels and that 2020's are. Then you said they started to use 2118's as 2020's were too expensive . . . so surely they are cup racer wheels . . .

Theres no groove on mine either, the centre caps were a tight fit but i put a dab of superglue on just to make sure they didnt fly off!

On the fronts the centre cap would'nt go on because the driveshaft thread stops the centre cap going on ( obv near the hub nut ) All i did was pop the front of the centre cap off, grinded a hole for the driveshaft, and then glued the front back on the centre cap.

That sounds like bull but i know what I mean!

yes I know they are but only because they a reinforced, and I guess other 2118's have cuts for center caps

Cup racers used 2020 which were magnisium and the road versions are 2118's alloy.

The wheel design is exactly the same bar the 2020's have the speedline name embossed into the rim amd the 2118's have it printed on in blue

Some lad on here a while back bought centre caps with his 2118's so you must be able to get them

Right,

The Original clio cup race wheel - 2118 ET48.5
They then started using - 2118 ET38 sometimes the 2020 mag version but that cost to much to replace as said.

The 2118 ET43 is a high duty palmersport clio cup wheel, designed to take abuse from the general public on the palmersport driving days. It weights a lot more than the et38 version.

I have owned quite a few sets of 2118's over the last 4 years not one has been designed to be used with a centre cap. On the rears you can use the hub covers that can be found on lesser spec clios and painted a colour of your choice, i havent found anything for the fronts yet.

I wouldnt want a modified centre cap on my car because theres a chance it will fall out, the wheel wasnt designed for centre cap's so i wouldnt risk it. And i wouldnt glue them in either...

Iv got a set of 2118's in a et38 and they weigh a frigging tonne !! Hit some proper hard pot holes in them and nothing will bend them. To think Palmer Sport ones are even stronger and even heavier, not sure why they'd need to be

There was definetely a lad on here who bought some black centre caps with his 2118's as a extra cost.
Sure i saved the photo's somewhere. Will have a look later.

They look better without them regardless

You can fit Caps of the Hub Blts from Lesser Model Clio's on the Rears but I'm not sure about the fronts..... I was going to Search/Make some Centre Caps for mine but I've now decided they look more Track Slagish without any
