speedo with 17s

Ello people ive just put 17s on me clio 2001 model 1.2 16v and wonderd if anyone else is speedo is out from doing this. cheers

yeh mate it will be, the speedo works by revolutions of the wheel, and speed is calculated by the tyre size!

well i was following my dad home and he has a Road Angel 2. My speedo said i was going 60mph and his RA2 said we was doing 60mph too, so i dont think there is too much difference.....maybe at 100mph+?

The speedo will only be out if you have not fitted the correct tyre size..

So as long as the overall Wheel/tyre Diameter is the same as the origionals then there will be very little error

I used a Road Angel last week, is the gps speedo meant to be spot on?

I have 16s instead of the standard 15s which is overall a lesser diameter..and Road Angel reckons my Clios speedo is out by quite a bit, by about 7mph when i get to 100mph.

Use the link I put in my post above, put in your old and new tyre sizes and see what it says....
