spend or save hmmmm?

  Vectra
right, long story short I have just been given a few hundred quid and am unsure on what to do lol now I know some people would know instantly what they want to do with it..but I dont lol

either keep it and save up for next motor (mind that wont be for years yet)
or
spend it on the clio..ie: new bumpers/wheels/coilovers

what would you people say...

Cheers

Because it will be better. Spend what you have now on a 'worse' car, or save for a bit for a better car?

I know what I'd do, because I did it!

Cheers for comments guys!

Well atm am on the shelf as they say...unsure on what to do.

But its tempting to spend a little lol

keeping the clio standard for ad say another 2years , get insurance right down! and get next car :)

  Vectra
^^that did cross my mind..but nahh

all my savings will be going towards the new car..cant wait! lol

I'd personally save, but I see no harm in buying some second hand mods if you can put them back to standard come sell up, and get more or less what you originally paid for.

Cheers for comments lads.

ive already been corrected about this saying but atm am on the fence on what to do. for me to get the car I want after the clio a mk5 golf I will not only need to save for years but also wait till insurance drops , ad say at least another 2years if not longer...but am torn between golf mk5 and clio , easy choice for some but the clio and I have a good history and I've loved every minute of owning it so I feel if I sell up just because the car doesnt look how I want it to I feel like I will of cheated in some way....haha keeping up everyone?

there's nothing wrong with clio's nearly all the ages can own one and not look out of place if you get my drift...only problem is power its only a small 1.2 16v...plus I prefer the clio , easier to park than golfs/focus's etc...better on fuel....good size for me personally I dont need a larger car the clio suits me down to the ground lol

as I say atm am on the fence..on what to do...comments would be much appreciated

Cheers

Blow it, if you keep it in reserve it'll only end up going on bills or something worthless when your short next.

At least with coilovers etc it'll be a worthwhile splash :p

theee best car ever made.

(says the guy whos dci has probably lost £5000 in the last year) lol

i've owned 2 french cars (neither were Renos) and i'm never getting one again :rasp:

if i had spare cash i would either buy a model steam engine, mk1/2 golf or E30 beemer. all three will only go up in value.

most i've lost on a car... £10

You start some utterly s**t threads.

I'm bad, but you're on a different level. I thought you were 'slammin' your car on coilovers, fitting Team dynamics and colour coding. Or were you getting a corsa... I lose track.

The words of truth!

Utterly annoys me when people post huge amounts of threads stating different plans, ideas, want help etc and nothing ever comes to fluition! Do something!

But for me, id spend, Live for today as you may not even be able to drive in years come if something were to happen, make your car yours and have some fun with it.

^^cheers for comments

next car is going to be mk5 golf 1.6 5door , now for me to own one of those I need a good insurance track record..I have been driving for nearly 2years and will hopefully have 2years NCB...but to own one of those I will need around 3-4NCB to get a good quote ie cheap!

so clio is staying till then...as for some comments about coilovers and all that..I already own them just never fitted them yet

I'll bet £100 that this clownshoe doesn't buy a mk5 Golf 1.6 next.

He'll change his mind 455 times inbetween now ant then.

Not much quicker than a 1.2 16v Clio...

How can you pick your next car years ahead. I think I've only known a few months at most what I want next before buying.
