Spilt milk!

think this should be in interior as it happened inside the car but feel free to move it.

had a milk container split in the boot. Luckily i keep old floor mats in there in case of spillages so most of the milk was absorbed by those. Thrown those away, taken the carpet out to be washed but the car STINKS of milk and the hot weather isnt helping.

Ive stuck 4 air fresheners in the boot and coated the whole boot with Haze air freshener spray as well as spraying the whole interior of the car.

What else can I do to get rid of the smell???

how about just scrubbing the boot with a bit of soapy water and drying it out?

An anti-bacterial cleaner may help. Its the bacteria than causes the smell.

sorry yeah i tried the fabreeze stuff just forgot to mention it

looks like ill have to get the fairy liquid out and scrub the boot. Think the car has absorbed the smell though. Valet might be the only wayt o get rid of it

Its no good crying over split milk

Similar thing happened to me, but it was with a bottle of wine, stunk for weeks but the smell was more pleasant, just not very good when you get pulled over and your car smells of booze.

Apply an enzyme digester (found in some laundry detergents) and then clean with a carpet shampoo machine.

Then leave windows open to remove moisture.

carpet still out

Found a small pool of sour milk under the back seat.

totally drenched the inside of the car with detox and febreeze last night.

it seems to have made a difference but that might change when its been in the sun for a while.

ill do the same again after work. hope its not raining again so i can leave the windows open - get some air in there.
