Split Wiring Loom + Stereo/iPod/Parrot installation

Hi All,

I've been attempting to fit a new CD player which I got today, whilst installing I've split 1 (nearly 2) of the wires on the loom. How easy are these to replace?

We are going to try and get a connector to patch it all up tomorrow as a fix for now. How much would it cost roughly to get it replaced?

It's a really tight gap behind with the new stereo, a parrot hands free kit and the iPod adaptor!

Does anyone have any suggestions to how to get all of this behind the new stereo? It's really doing my head in now!

Regards,

Simon.

when i fitted my parrot and ipod etc i took the dash top off and clocks out,
you can just squeeze the cables up and towards the clocks and slip the stereo in, ]
took me around 3 hours to fit it all

I can just about fit it in, but it's the last 1 cm that I'm having the problem with, the msot crucial part as it doesn't clip in!

pop out the ash tray then the whole thing which has the cups, then the panel above can be popped forward carefully using a flat head screwdriver (making sure not to mark) leaving enough room for the parrot blue relay box and even ipod adapter

Thanks Matt. I will have a look once we've fixed the loom! I really don't want to fork out on a whole new loom, I can see it being a costly job!

when you say split what exactly have you done?can you not solder the wires back together or have you pulled the wire out of the terminal?

One of the cables to the windscreen heater has just split basically, not near the terminal block. I'd say it was around 2 inches from the button on the dash.

My dad is going to try and get a connector from his work to see if we can do it that way.

Managed to fix the wiring loom with a connector thankfully!

Now just need to attempt to refit the stereo and iPod connector!

yep, charging version or just a 3.5mm jack plug in available
pm me if your wanting prices, etc as ive clogged up enough threads for one day :)
