Splitting power cable 2 for 1

Since I already have an amp powered from the battery, and I want to have a PC powered from the battery, can I use the same power cable and split it with one end still going in the amp and the other having a connector like a cigarette lighter?

Would I have to change the fuse? Any other considerations? Where can you get a lighter connection?

Id like to use the cigarette lighter connection to power a PC using this power supply http://www.morexintl.com/60W%20Car%20Power%20Kit.htmhere but have something thats clean enough to leave lying about the boot if I remove the PC.

Thnx

Is that not quite big though? Advantage of the one in the link above is it can be used to turn the PC on and off nicely.

Depends on the rating of the amp and cable but provided youve got a bit left on the rating of the power cable theres no reason you cant.

Remember thats (the power supply) for a low power application so you want to be looking at http://www.mini-itx.comthis for the motherboard etc. Plus you WILL need to regulate the power going into that you cant just plug it straight in. (sorry didnt see the link when I first posted.

Can i just ask why you want a PC in your car? Is it mainly to store music on the large hard drives available today or just you love windows XP that much you want it giving you car a virus? lol
