Spraying 197 front grills help please

Nix

  A6, 197
Hi guys! I did a search and came up with what i needed to spray the clio 197 front grills, i just picked up plastic primer, satin black and clear lacer. But what im wondering is, do i do any sort of wet/dry sanding? and how many coats of primer/color/lacer do you guys recommend? unless theres an easier way of getting them back to that factory look?

thanks :)

I'd just clean them, wipe the, with isopropyl alcohol, dry them then dress them with the likes of autofinesse revive or a nano sealant.

Much easier, neater and cleaner than spraying them.

I did mine last year. Just took them out, cleaned them and have them a coat of halfords Matt black spray paint. Wanted the same texture to them that they have standard, just hated that they had faded. Did the job.

This is what the matt paint dried to (only have a picture of it on my spoiler ends)

Don't lacquer them with normal lacquer as they will end up with a gloss finish.

Just give them a quick couple of coats of satin black, no need for the primer or lacquer.
