Spraying wheels

P

Ok, so i bought my 172 last year, and it had some crappy 17's on it. I was able to blag some 16's of a friend which made the car look a little bit normal and to say the last drive a hell of about better.

Bascially they are BK604. And the paint is knackered. So wanting to either paint them athericite or black. Cant really afford to get it done professionally as iv got to do other work to the car and also funds are kinda strict into my e30 track car.

So is it possible to spray them myself? Iv got a guy who can dip them etc...

But what is the best primer/paint to use?

Thanks

Phill

i did mine with hammerite metal paint, in black, then clear coated over the top...

i just made sure they were properly sanded down, then went straight on with the hammerite, lots of thin coats to build it up....then a day to dry and then clearcoat on top........i got the matt/satin finish i wanted and it only ended up costing me a couple of quid per can for the paint :)

spray cans or use spray gun?

laquer will have sent it semi glossy.

if you had a gun you could have got some high solid 2k straight black and threw matting agent in it, makes it look powder coated

cans unfortunately, i didn't use laquer, well it wasnt labeled laquer, it was plastikote satin clear coat.....didnt seem to come out satin lol
