Squeaky Breaks

Whats the cause and cure for these?. when i break when at slow speeds through town my breaks squeak.... not great for people to look at your car and its squeaking.

Changing brake pads? I had some that were fine when warmed but in stop-start traffic they squeaked like hell. Put some alternatives on and it stopped.

Guess it would be worse seeing if there was any grit etc trapped though.

Change the pads.

Either change the pads or could be due to hoew you ahve beaded them in, my rears squeeked, on std pads, 60 mns on track cured that

Take them out, apply some copper grease to the back (non friction side).

Problem solved.

Is it your rear drums that are squeaking rather than the front discs? If so, the above does not apply!!

My other halfs 1.2 of a similar age has squeaky rear drums.

This happened to me recently, just needed to change the pads as they were down to bare metal!
