Squeeky brakes

Has anyone else had this ?

Mine squeal constantly in the dry weather and i do mean constantly....

In the wet, it doesnt seem as noticeable..

and oh yes... the noise stops when i apply the brakes...

ive tried slamming on the anchors a few times and ended up hurting my back and making no difference to the noise.. :(

it seems to be coming from at least one front disc and one back one and is bloody annoying.. the pads are not worn so could it be my discs ?

this all started when after a rather enthusiastic drive over to reading, i braked so hard at a couple of roundabouts that at the last one, i didnt really have any brakes anymore and i just had to go over it (not literally) :)

could i have done some lasting damage to the discs ? they dont feel warped or badly worn etc...

any ideas folks ?

maybe the sliders thatr hold in the pad are not greased well?
thats what i had, might be dif on the 172 thou??
