Squelching noise on bumpy roads.

I fitted cup shocks on my 172 about two months ago. But i have recently noticed that when going over speed bumps or on a bumpy road i am getting a squelching noise coming from the front end. The only thing i can think of is the shocks. Is this normal or not or is there anything else it could be?
