Starting this Thursday March 15th at 05:01am GMT games players will be able to play Star Wars: The Old Republic completely free for four days. The announcement came on the official website for the game that players, including those who haven’t purchased the game will be able to download and play until 07:00am on March 19th.There will be some restrictions compared to those who have purchased the full game as the press release states that “Individuals who take part in the Weekend Pass will be able to experience the opening adventures of each of the eight character classes in the game, exploring both their Origin World and their faction’s Capital World.” The good news for players who wish to continue playing after the free trial is that their characters will not be immediately deleted after the trial has ended. Whilst Bioware don’t promise that data will be stored indefinitely they indicate that player’s saves will remain for those wanting to continue their adventures.
Playing as members of either the Sith Empire or the Galactic Republic, Star Wars: The Old Republic is the latest in the series of games which began with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic on the original Xbox in 2003. Developed by Bioware, the game is speculated to have one of the highest development costs of all time. With a score of 85 on Metacritic, the game has received widespread praise in reviews.
