Starter motor issue ?

Think mt Clio has develop a starter motor issue.
Battery seems to have plenty of life.
Ignition on accompanied by a whine for the starter motor area, turn the key over and absolutely nothing, no unusual lights on dashboard etc.

Any got any quick fire ways of testing if the starter motor is the issue as I don't fancy whipping it off if it's not the issue.

It's happened a few times on and off but in the end always seemed to get itself fired up.
But absolutely nothing this time

Fired up straight away. Assuming this is a sign the starter motor needs addressing sooner rather than later

Possibly yeah, or it just got stuck for someone reason.

Had it before on other cars, gave it a tap and it was fine for years.

Also check that the small wire isn't coming loose. Just incase it's that.

Does it have the heat shield over the starter, by the way?

Che ked the small white wire to the solenoid is OK? Mine had an intermittent issue for ages. Would wiggle the loom and it would start. Changed the spade connector and been good since

Yeah there is a heat shield of sorts. Not the best condition in the world though

Ahh right, as long as it's there it 'should' be doing its job.
