Starter Motor On It's Way Out?

Nipped into Asda last night for a couple of things and came back out to find the car wouldn't start. Called up Ben (cheers bud) and he came and tried to give me a jump start but the car was only firing slightly before dying, eventually it only became a clunk at start up.

Eventually managed to get it bump started a few hours later, and the recovery bloke toldf me it was a starter problem. Does that sound about right?

could be the starter motor,or might be the ignition sensor!

it occured on my wifes mk 2 s reg clio-the scenario was the same too where i was driving-went to the supermarket,everything was fine getting there,popped in for 2 minutes,came out and car would not start for the life of me!-this went on for many months,until one day the car just would not start,so went in to garage and told us it was the ignition sensor! don't worry mate ,not much to rectify,if you send it in to your local garage!

Heard a lot about the TDC sensor, where is it located on the 1.2?
