Stealth Install

Not sure if anyone would be interested but heres the results of my labours. The install consists of an Alpine CDA-7803R HU, Polk Audio components in the front, Focal utopia 5 ws subs in the rear using the standard fittings, and a gensis profile 4 amp running the show. The boot floor i made myself ,though thanx to bulk buying i have enough perspex to cover at least another 5 builds. Oh wellhttp://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/Cliosport/Gallery/Full/1066583108__DSC00294.jpg

The system is still loosening up so the sound is changing all the time. Hopefully once its all bedded in i can set it up properly and it should sound nice. Well thats the theory

  A blue one.

..cool.. Im currenly weighing up whether or not to refit my audio equipment to my car when I pick it up (tuesday!) - ive got the same amp as you + a empeg head unit (which I dearly miss having in the car since I removed it pending the new cars arrival). Another factor is that I have a fair amount of cash invested in this stuff and it seems a bit of a waste to keep the original stock head unit.

In my previous clio the amp was tacked to the back seats which made getting to the amp settings a right pain....

I like what youve done there, looks cool. I take it that youve created a false floor, or have you removed the original boot floor with your own?

What are your front components like? I had infinity 505cs speakers and never liked them, way to much top end - I listen to rock/metal so those speakers got very annoying very quickly....

Anyway, like I said looks very cool.

perspex is expensive aint it!!!!

im building my install atm and its been a b**ch so far! will get some pics when its finished tho!

and ive got genesis amps, good choice :D

I been looking 4 some dark carpet like that, but i cant find any, only seen that light grey stuff that usually wraps round sub boxes.

Sorry for taking so long to reply but i work away from home so i dont get online that often. So heres the answers to your questions.

Matty Very nice. Taking any other projects on ??? Could do with mine doing (false floor).

If you live in the north east then if you want one made i have 2 weeks leave at the start of november if you want one made.

Essex Lad: I got my perspex direct from a main supplier it was cheaper than B and Q. I got 1.5mx 1.5m, 8 mm thick sheet for 20 quid.

Rorrie if you live near newcastle upon tyne then you can have some, Not sure how easy it would be to post, deoends how desperate you are for it i suppose.

JimBob The carpet is the same used for sub boxes, it wears quite well. I got it from a local ICE shop. Its called Car Audio Telecom, the numbe for them is 0191 2130077.

Snoop at the moment the mid havent fully bedded in and i havent set the system up very well so i cant give the speakers the big thumbs up yet, but they are sounding ok at the mo. The false floor you asked about is made in 3 bits so you can get to the spare wheel by raising the centre section. Youl loose about 2.5 inches of boot depth but i looks good i think.

I hope this infomation is usefull.

Rob,

Live in the midlands and really need my rear set up sorting. Got SOme MB Quart PSC 316 3 way speakers which I am gonna have the 4 inch where the standard rear speakers are and 6.5 inch in a stealth shelf.

Then need the crossovers and wiring tidied up on false floor bottom that is already in the car with amps fitted. Just need the sides at top built with cut outs for teh two Denon amps and maybe carpeted.

If you could do that within a day would be happy to come up to get it done. Would sort you out with some cash and you can have the MB Quart tweeters I wont be using in the rear if any use to you.

Let me know. Been running around with just QMs in teh front and could do with some rear fill and the boot tidying.
