Steering column Problem- Fix with a weld

My partner has a clio16v and has play in her steering. Ive heard a few people have had this problem and and have solved it by welding the steering column rather whan replacing the whole thing. Can anyone give me a link to a pic to identify what needs welding?

Do a search in the media section m8, it was covered not long ago with all the pictures and even a movie on the part that needs the weld. Ive not long done mine.
