Steering feel improvement - adjusting power assistance level - an excellent tweak

I have done c.25k miles now in the 2 years since I bought my 182. Have done much to improve it.
Have always thought that the feel of the steering was too light and hence you lack feel and feedback.
I know people have tried electric racks and fast racks etc. but you can just adjust the degree of power assistance that your power steering pump applies to the rack on a standard 182 setup.
Mike at Rentec near Portsmouth 023 9266 5848 rentech.ltd@gmail.com adjusted mine along with a few others jobs and it is an immediate improvement. He did it along with a few other jobs so cant say what just this would cost on its own. If you don't know Mike/Rentec - he is excellent on these cars as he has been specialising in them since they were new and he drives a 182 Cup himself. My experiences from driving c.25k miles in a 182 is that these cars are getting on and many components are reaching their end of life and it is much better, faster and ultimately cheaper to take them to an expert who knows their issues, diagnoses issues quickly and has Renaults diagnostics than a general garage that will be learning at your expense.

Interesting... Any idea what was involved? Was this electrical or did it involve altering the plumbing somehow?
