Steering knock - despite recent overhaul.

After living with a multitude of knocking and tapping from perishable items, I have recently overhauled the following;

- Engine mounts (OE plus polyurethane dogbone)
- Suspension topmounts, OE
- Springs all round
- Front shocks, OE

The latter three were changed today. It has improved the ride quality no end, and I am pleased. The engine mounts were done a couple of weeks back, and they are also spot-on.

I still have a knock however.

The knock is louder on left-hand bends, when load is placed to the front right of the car. It is most pronounced at about 60mph, on sweeping NSL bends. As I turn in, there is a knock, and then when I straighten there is a knock. It doesn't really do it on the left side of the car.

If I turn the car off (no PAS active obviously), and wiggle the steering, there is a knock, as the steering goes from side to side.

Before we start looking, can anyone maybe suggest something off the top of their head?

I'm hoping it's a perishable bush of some sort, but it does no harm to ask on here first. I just hope it's not the steering rack (because that'll probably be expensive).

Car is on 92,000 I think.

First thing to check is the sterring rack is tight, mine on my 172 cup started creaking / knocking. Nipped the 4 x bolts up and it never did it again!!!
