Steering off centre, after having the wheels aligned

  Not a 320d
Well i took the car into a local garage to have it 4 wheel aligned basically, i think they just did toe but i might be wrong. The car feels better to drive already, the tyres dont screech anymore when cornering and actually it feels more stable and a bit less jumpy.

Before it went in, the steering wheel was off centre, you have to steer slightly right to go forward etc, now its been done, i have to steer to the left to go forward, but its worse.

Any idea why lol.

I need to go back in to another garage to have a set up done sometime next month, ill be buying camber bolts and having negative camber on the front wheels, right now, they are very slightly on the positive side.

When I rung up about having my wheels aligned, I was told that standard Clio's you can't adjust camber only toe.
So I proceeded to tell them about mine being on coilovers, which seemed to stump them a bit. Needless to say I didn't use them!

Yer its a bit annoying, but i cant adjust camber on my coilovers. Might just man the 5 - 6 hour drive to mark fish.

yeah get it done properly at a specialist, camber bolts are only about £20.
bet they didnt properly lock the steering wheel to dead ahead when they loosened the track rod ends......

you notied the difference with just a cheap back street place by the sound of it, mark fish will have it handling like its on rails!!!

Anywhere with a HUNTER type alignment system can sort it.

www.alignmycar.co.uk

I found a place by me on that website that managed to sort out my alignment. The quickfit type laser jobs just dont cut it. Took my car to 2 different alignment places when my wheel was off centre, both failed. Took it to the place off that website and they sorted it straight away.
