Steering rack bushes

Just get the black, there's no extra vibrations or anything through them :)
This.

Couldnt even tell id fit them to be honest, car felt the same as it did before.

For how much of a pain in the arse they are to fit, id only do them if your current ones are shot.

I`d agree with your fitment comment.
As I installed ARB, wishbones & rack bushes at the same time, the improvement was worth the effort, though you are probably correct.
Unless your rack is going walk about with shot bushes, don't bother.

feels like the steering is walking around mid corner/over bumps beibg pulled to either side and under braking is the same possible track rods then?

Could be a number of things. TREs, rods themselves, balljoints, loose balljoints etc

Any defects with running gear (bushes, bearings, steering, suspension etc) should have been picked up at MOT time.

If you don`t have a pair of correctly inflated, undamaged matched tyres of the same brand & type, & not part worns, on each axle as a minimum, though ideally all 4 should be the same, with the tracking set, then there is every chance you will be encountering these problems.

Blown gas shocks may have slipped through an MOT unnoticed though, they can make life entertaining.

Tyres fitted > 1000 miles ago and tracked so would of thought they were tracked correctly!
Mot no advisories last month - however when i did the brakes there was play in the wheel when the car was on the stands and a slight clicking?

Horizontal - tyres straight, gave them a yank and there was play?

How do you check steering rack bushes? Is it an ars*?

You need to look at the passenger side bush if there's a problem there will be a clean line from the rack moving inside the bush.

Reference the tyres, have you checked the pressures since they were fitted?
Mine were around 8 psi too high last week as the ambient temperature was around 15degrees C warmer than when I last checked them in March.
What are the tyres, and have you checked they are round, run true and are correctly seated, as they may be new, but that`s no guarantee they are.

Play in the wheel? Which wheel? Left wheel, Right wheel, front or rear, steering wheel?
