Steering Rack Question

  Breaking A 172 Replica
I have a 1.2 16V clio on an 02 plate.

NathanH replaced the rack today as I bent the steering arm and all is good.

We decided to leave the clip unplugged to disable the power steering as I hate the way the steering is so light.

Even with this clip disconnected the car still turns far easier when the engine is on as opposed to the stage just before ignition.

Why is this if the PAS is disabled?

Cheers

Sam

:s where is the motor for it then?

Is that small clip thing that plugs into the joint between the column and the steering arms just a sensor?

Cheers

Well your steering is lighter at low speeds when parking etc and this sensor will tell the steering computer you are turning and the steering motor will give more assistance.
