steering wheel control prob

hi peeps im new to the forum , i have been member for over year now but never really had time to be on here but found time at min cos of injury !! but anyway back to question in hand , can anyone help me / advise me ??? i have just bought a sony cd head unit off of ebay , it has a port for a joystick to go to , but i want to use the existing steering wheel controls , does anyone know of anyone who can help me out ? or has anyone else had the same prob ?? any hwlp would be brilliant , i own a 52 plate clio 172

connect2 adapter or autoleads adapter...avalible from halfords and online all over the place

ok cool , do u know of anyone who has done the same ? i went to halfords this morning and they reckon that there isnt one on there system??

There are special adapters that you can buy (most likely autoleads) that will enable you to keep using the controls !! These are available from halfords (rip off) or most online stores, eg http://www.letsbuycaraudio.com/main/http://www.letsbuycaraudio.com/main/

ive done it on mine with a sony....al sony ones r the same for the renault clio. mines a connect2 box. shudnt be too hard to find. halford do, do them

i have just looked at the one i got with the cd player and it is an autoleads one , model number pc9-101 , that isnt right one is it ?

mine was 50 quid to work with the controls and the display as well.

Halfords were wanting months to get one in.

ok thats brilliant , il get hold of them now , what comes up on the display on urs then ?? is it just the same as before ?? did urs have little yellow connector for the stalk ??

The display works pretty much as it did before, just looses a couple of bits such as fm1 or whatever before the station name. also the control bit works as before, only going to FM2 preset 1 when you scroll through the list of presets, where as the standard radio would go back to preset one.

From memory the remote wire plugs into the connects2 box, that then plugs into the headunit. Mine is an m800 or something??!!??

I warn you its a bugger to get all the wire to fit in the dash - especially if you have a autochanger like me. It took alot of pushing wires about to get it to fit properly.

No, one of them only does your remote controls, not the display as well

Couldnt comment as i cant find it.

Try it if it saves you money, but I know for certain that the one above works perfectly.

right that is it sorted !!! finally !!! it was £48 i spoke to guy on phone and he advised me on it , and the right one is now being sent to me !!! thanks alot guys for all the help , speak to u all again soon
