Steering Wheel Fitting With CC

  172 Ph2
I'm thinking of changing my steering wheel from the standard 182 cup wheel (with cruise control) to a Renaultsport rubber gripped wheel (also with cruise control). Was just wondering what was lurking inside it (wires etc) and how easy it is to swap over. Do you just unclip the airbag, take it off, then disconnect a pair of wires to the cruise buttons?? I don't want to screw anything up! Any advice would be great!

So did I!!! Mine has a cheaper non-renaultsport wheel from the dynamique i think. Not sure If all 182 cups had this! I want to change it to a 'proper' Renaultsport one with the logo, rubber grips etc. I have read some bad things about the RS wheel though(rubber grips keep breaking). I want to just buy one cheap and give it a try really. I won't do it if there's a lot of messing about though!

Oh right .I never realised the wheel was different . I've seen issues with the steering wheel grips as well . On my last 172 i had for just over 4 years i never had a problem , touch wood the 182's grips are ok too . I guess its down to how much your hands sweat , if its slightly acid ??

You could try a breakers :

easy 2 connectors under the airbag one for the horn one for CC , will be the same for RS wheel as non RS Wheel. matts prices are around £90-£100 for a good wheel
