steering wheel shakes

got in my car last night to drive and straight away the steering wheel judders and when i turn the car feels like its dragging does anyone know what the problem is and is it expensive?? cheers jamie

Juddering steering wheel normally means that your wheels need balancing.
Not sure about the dragging..

na its not balancing the wheels its more serious than that even at 5mph it really judders

I'd start with wheel balancing mate. Only £5 a wheel. I've found with Renault's there's no sure fire diagnostic for any problem. It's just a case of starting with the cheapest solution and working up! lol

Excellent point. Some pikeys tried to nick my friends wheels and couldn't get the locking nut off so just left it running on one bolt. Didn't drive to well! Lol
