Steering wheel thumb grips

My right thumbgrip is annoying me now, its got a massive slit that i can feel eachtime i put my hands on the wheel.

I've had an idea of wrapping the thumbgrips with racket grip tape. the furry kind.

Anyone tried this before?... And does it look good?...

I remember my mate had a sparco wheel with racket grip tape around it, and looked quite nice, and suited it.

Im planning only to cover the right hand thumbgrip, as thats the only one that has a hole in it.

LOL, nooo...

It's just to cover the slits on the thumbgrip, as they stick out and sort of dig into my hand when i hold the wheel. Not that it hurts, its just annoying.

I'd imagine it won't look good at all tbh, plus if you only do one that'll make it look odd.
