STEREO HELPPP!!!

  02 1.2 Dynamique Clio
Hellooo..

For some reason (which I hope one of you kind gents could shed some light on) my stereo seems to act as if my car is off even though its on. As in, wont turn on without me pushing the power button, wont power up my subwoofer, will work for 15 or so minutes then beeps and turns off and also wont turn off when I turn off the car. This has been happening for a few days and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas how I can stop it!?

Its a standard 2002 Renault Head Unit.

Cheers in advance!!

this is how my problems started on my dynamique, then bout 3 weeks after, my trip computer went beserk, had no mpg, avg. speed or anythin showing only total mileage. then the centre screen went n radio wouldnt turn on. its all linked in with the trip computer somehow, luckily i got it done under warranty, or else it would have cost me £600 apparantly

except i dint hav a sub lol

Sounds to me like someone put a sony unit in it, thus swapping the constant power and ignition on power, then putting a standard one back in and leaving it, does the radio stay on all the time if there is no keys in the car?

If you've had the car a while ignore what i just said.

Theres a fuse blown, specifically the ones that gives the ignition live to the headunit.

thanks alot for that will look into it...and cheers for all the other help lads!

howd you connect a sub to the standard headunit then?

easily...just connect the remote wire to the live ignition wire on the iso behind the head unit and then disconnect the rear speakers and re-connect them back to the subwoofer...then ground it and connect to the battery and its done!

a high pass filter would make it sound s**t tho surely?

A High to Low convertor converts the high level signal from the HU to a signal level input for amplifiers

A High pass filter prevent low freqencies getting to a speaker and is compeltly different

easily...just connect the remote wire to the live ignition wire on the iso behind the head unit and then disconnect the rear speakers and re-connect them back to the subwoofer...then ground it and connect to the battery and its done!

I assume your using an amp and not wiring the rear outputs directly to the sub?

What amp are you using? generally amps that accept high level inputs are not the best quality.

And you do know that your sub amp will ALWAYS be on if you wire the remote to the live on the iso
