Stereo Patch Lead Stopped Working...

So I have a 1.2 dynamique '01 MkII and I have a JVC KDAVX20 head unit which was installed about 8 months ago, had the stereo patch lead changed so the stalk controls would work...no problems, just driven to Canterbury from South(ish) London was working fine then got in the car a few hours later and its not working?! Anyone got any solutions or ideas or is it a case of whipping off the dash to have a look for any loose connections...?

First thing I'd do is pull out the stereo and have a look. Mine often falls out the back of the headunit, all the leads are too tight behind there but I'm too lazy to sort it.

Stalk control started working again...dodgy connection??
