STOLEN AGAIN

  Silver 182 F/F

Remember me back in April had thiefs break into house steal my car keys and pinched my 182,this got replaced with a shiny new 182 in July only to be woken up this morning 6.30am! by the neighbour. The wheels have been nicked now.

Theres hundreds of these 182s about, and not to wish it on anyone else but why pick on me twice:(

There must be something about where you leave it that makes it appealling to nick. Still harsh though.

^ sorry to hear that mate, been there and it makes your blood boil !

I had a 306 a few years back and it was used for fookin spares parts while it was on my drive. Countless things pinched of it and broken in it.

one word - SCUM

id set up CCTV mate, theyre cheap enough these days.

i think he does mean the car rather than the wheels, but his post does seem confusing, sorry though mate, some proper mailto:b@st@rds">b@st@rds out there!, thats why I wouldnt buy a house without a garage.

I have to agree these wheels arent that expensive, must be the anthracite colour, kids with no knowledge will think there worth a fortune.

P.S Renos locking wheel nuts are crap, they look like theyve been removed with the key.Doesnt look forced or anything

It will be the same people i bet - they become accustomed to previous places theyve stolen from before and got away with it......they think its safe. I would invest in a cheap CCTV system if i was you.

I got 2 separate security lights setup now. 2 steps on driveway and first one comes on. + got optional buzzer inside to go off if light comes on. (however, doesnt distinguish between scum and cats !)

Sorry to hear that mate. Might be time to invest in a lock up/garage in your local area.

  Silver 182 F/F

Ive got a garage at home but these modern houses with there tiny garages only just fit the car in,then you have to scrape down the side of it to get out, causing scrathcing so never bothered so will have to have a rethink.

  Silver 182 F/F

CCTV would that stop them or will you just see some hooded kids nicking your car/wheels.

My wife used to be a manager of a hotel with top of the range CCTV motion sensors, flood lights the works, yet still they nicked wheels on a regular basis.

Yeah our garage was built in the 70s and its a tight fit, I think I would still rather try and squeeze it in.

There is a decent amount of space at the front back off mine but its not that wide. I reverse in tight up against the drivers side with the widow down to easily see and get out the passenger side.

wire your car up to the mains, just a thought !

sorry to hear that, get some wheel locks though, thieves are lazy, thats why they are thieves.

Having said that my car was broken into, all they took was the ashtray with some loose change in, but the key to the wheels was in it as well, now even i cant get the wheels off!

Anyone fancy setting a booby trap for those f***ers?

Then we culd catch them red-handed, throw them into the back of a lorry (blindfolded), then drop them off somewhere random... like lane 2 on the M1.

Recovery wagon just been to take it away, brought some after market wheels with him fitted using originall wheel studs that was left behind, car wouldnt move.Turns out the stude where going too far through the rear discs and catching on the handbrake mech.Took an hour to work it out.

Yeah i had my wheels stolen and its not nice, then i went out and brought some Mcgard locking wheel nuts, dont know how safe they are but cost a fair bit

Diks! Hope it all gets sorted soon cos thats just sh*te.

Yeah, whats with the crap size of garages in new houses? I could only just get my Punto (hardly the biggest car) in when I first had it - couldnt actually open the doors at all and there was only about 1/2 metre left at the end (lengthways). Only about 3 out of about 120 houses on my estate manage to get their cars in their garages...

Cant believe youve been done twice, thats so unlucky..Id find away to get that car in your garage.

Put the wing mirrors in and drive it tight over on the passenger side, then put something on the wall so you dont bash the door and find a way to not scrape the car when you get past.

Im still dreaming of having a garage, but Ill make sure I get one thats big enough to fit the car in...

iam also developing software to recognise shape i.e human versus animals.

i kid you not !

problem is the movement of the fixed gun, it needs to trace and im not sure how i would do this ?

That is nasty and shocking, but when they nicked the 182 for the first time was the wheel locking nut adapter in the car? If so they might have used that.

bloody harsh that. I bet your insurance company cant wait for your renewal.

I fitted a sensor light as soon as I got my 172. Wuithin about a month 2 doors down had the STEEL yes steel wheels and hubcaps nicked off his 1.2 clio.

Its not the same 182 i got back,a new one was bought for me so the new one would have come with new locking wheel nuts.

By all accounts the use gator grips to take the locking wheeel nuts off

A similar thing happened to a guy in our village, they nicked wheels off his mondeo and laguna (both just normal spec cars really) they did both cars twice within a month and then did the mondeo again for luck about 2 months later. You can get thacham approved locking nuts and I reccomend the CCTV option, even if its just a dummy camera. I got a dummy camera off ebay for 7 quid, Im a security engineer so could fit CCTV but TBH the only stuff worth having is quite expensive
