Stop/Hanbrake light on cornering

Weird problem here.

When cornering round a left hand corner my stop light and handbrake light come on at the same time.. then I will straighten up and the light will stay on for a couple seconds more then go out :S

I thought it would be fluid related as it doesnt happen the second you start going round a corner but as if all the fluid would go to one side and it, the theory seems to be good as when you straighten up it takes a couple seconds to go out again.

Ive taken a short vid of it, when the video tilts to the left that is me starting a long left hander, when the video straightens up you will see the light will continue to stay on for that couple seconds. The puzzeling thing is I have check all known fluid to no avail.

Oil - fine (up to the max notch on the dipstick)
Brake/Steering fluid - Fine
Water - Fine

Is there something im stupidly missing :S ? sometimes it doesnt even have to be a long left hander, just a simple slip road off a motorway can make the flicker on then back off again :(

Any help appreciated.. dont want to take it to renault chumps if I can help it.

(hmm, I wonder if it could be too thin an oil ? perhaps the last time it was in they put the wrong grade oil in ?)

Your brake pads are worn down , causing low brake fluid level . Common problem mate .First check the condition of your pads they might need replacing , if they are ok just top up the brake fluid reservoir and that will sort it out .

they do tend to leak a very small amout of brake fluid from the resviour camp. All have mine have done it, but it takes years for it to create an issue.

Mine does this too, but my front pads have done 26k so I kind of knew what the issue was when I read about this problem some weeks ago on here. I've just had my brake switch replaced, and I will change the pads in the next few weeks. My dealer has also ordered a new ECU bracket, as its broken and my ECU is flopping about a bit. Another common fault.

Thanks for the replies, i'll take a look at the pads but as I said before I have checked and topped up the brake fluid.

lol, ye this feature is been going on for a while now.. annonying.

Ive checked the front and rear pads, fronts have just under 1cm or so on them and the backs have about half a centimetre, which is plenty. I'll check the brake fluid level again, I think i'll get the fluid changed next time its in the garage anyway.

So its deffinatly something to do with the brake fluid/pads then... at least thats narrowed it down a bit.

Cheers guys.
