stop light and brake light coming on?

every time I go round a really sharp corner these two lights come on.

a quick fiddle with the handbrake while moving and they turn off, only started happening yesterday.

what could it be please?is it serious?

Its a sign of low brake fluid, which if there isnt a leak then it means your pads have worn down.

just had a service at GDI, they said i needed to change discs/pads in about 2000/3000 miles

Why not do it yourself mate? Its an easy enough job to do, and you can save youself a few ££££.

Um, you had a service in the 25minutes between your two posts?!? Still a bugger though mate, always annoying to spend on standard parts, you'll certainly notice the difference though.

Because the brake fluid moves in the reservoir to the side of it which makes teh sensor think that theres not enough.

no it was a couple of weeks ago, but just realised I've already I have clocked up another 1500 miles

i just cant believe it,youve got the exact same problem as me,when im going round certain corners tho,normally the long ones but sometimes when im accelerating,mine just got worse tho,ive f**ked my disks so need new ones,luckily ive just booked it in for its 12k service,

does the light come on then stay on unless you fiddle with the handbrake? Or does it go off on it's own?
If your pads are worn then this will cause the light to illuminate because as the pads ware down the more fluid there is in the braking system and the less is stored in the reservoir.

got the same on my v6, came on a few days ago.. done 12k anyone know how much pads are for the v6 255??
