Like Gareth says . Worn brake pads causes your brake fluid to drop bringing on the brake and stop light . Check your pads if there is still plenty left on them top up your brake fluid reservoir . Here's a pic of where to find the brake fluid res . Take care not to spill any if you do top it up , i use a small funnel and a few old rags round the top of the reservoir .You should see a max level on top of the brake fluid res , just top it up to under the cap .

If you lean right over and look into the top of the res you should be able to see the fluid , if you can't just top it up til you can .

If you've got an engine cover on you'll need to remove it to gain access to the reservoir .

Your brakes fluid level is low.

Check your fluid level and your brakes pads most likly you've got worn pads.

I know a few people who have had this sort of problem, with the warning lights flashing on and off (almost strobing) when they're giving it some beans, and in every case they were given the stock answer by the garage, but found the indicated fault was not present.

The fault actually seems to be that the car randomly flashes those lights when you're driving it hard, rather than the fault the lights indicate being present. My mate had a 182 which did the same as yours, and on inspection his brakes were never worn and his fluid was never low.

To clarify I'm not saying don't check it, of course you should, but just warning you that you may not be able to solve the problem, as I haven't been able to with mine which randomly strobes the STOP/Battery lights when exiting a tight corner at speed :dapprove:
