Strange 182 Engine rattle noise - Help please :) ?

  Clio 182
So whenever the car revs , this rattle/grinding noise can be faintly heard from the left hand area of the engine bay (as your looking at it)

It does not do it at idle , and turning the steering wheel slightly seems to make it worse.

It can be noticeably herd at the end of the videos when the car gets shut off.

The rattle is not the camera moving ( it was held secure), its the engine

Its been getting louder for some time now :(

I know the dephaser needs replacing and is causing some noise, but from what i know the dephaser shouldn't make a noise like this.

Any advice would be super awesome -

Thanks Guys & Girls

If its affected by moving the steering, and the car is not using coolant, then it could be you need an auxilary belt kit complete with tensioner and pulleys.
TBO,if you need a dephaser, you should replace the cambelt kit as well, and may as well go the whole hog and change the water pump at the same time.
What`s the mileage and belt history?.Auxilary every 36k,cambelt every 72k or 5 years.
I listened to vids, doesn`t sound too healthy,I`d stop using it till it`s sorted.Rattle seems to carry on after it`s stopped firing,so could be dephaser.
Where are you located ,so someone can recommend a specialist.?
Phones seem to record noises strangely,so give the engine a good shake,in case the mounts are gone.

Thanks Steve for the detailed info :) ,

Its on 64k Without any belt changes and its an '04' 182 FF - its going in next month for everything you mentioned so maybe that will cure it :)

Its going into eurocars for the above work on the isle of man next month when i have the pennies

But Unfortunately i have no choice but to use it every day for commuting so fingers crossed it doesn't go bang

If anyone else has any other ideas or can shed anymore light that would be useful too

  dan's cast offs.

At least get Eurocars to look at the aux belt tensioner now, they can be unsiezed.
If the aux belt fails,it will likely take out the cambelt and bend valves. You won`t be driving it to work if that happens.
At least they are Renault dealers, and will have the correct tools.
