strange brakes

With there being loads of snow about on new years day, when pressing the brake pedal down it has vibrations going through it and sometimes felt a grinding feeling - not very nice. Is this normal? is it just the EBD or ABS kicking in?

also heard a sloshing noice coming from the roof.. is that just water traped near the sunroof seal?

I get both these!!!!! But I have that problem with my brakes all the time, like a juddering feeling, almost as if theyre not there!!

Have u got 17"s on??

Mine does the same, the brakes almost feel like theres gravel trapped between the pad/disc when braking hard on very slippy surfaces - its just the ABS cutting in.

The sloshing noise on mine was water on the top of the sunroof seal, you could see it sloshing about by looking out of the sunroof.

Brakes feel well scary sometimes though, like theyve dropped off or something!! lol

You got 17"s on yours Craig - I only started getting it after I put my 17"s on, cant be good really!?!

Standard 15"s on mine.

I just about crapped myself the first time it happened - I was driving along a country road and had the left front wheel on some sloppy mud when I braked - all I got was a gritty lumpy feel from the brakes and almost no stopping power. Its nothing like the way ABS cuts in when braking hard on a dry/wet road when you just get a pulsing feel through the pedal.

Tis wierd!! I never noticed it before I put my 17"s on though, so they must have made it worse! Theres a bumpy bit of road that I have to pass everyday on the way back from work and it does it everytime and I think Im gonna go into the car in front at the traffic lights!! Feels like you say, like youve put your foot right through the break and its on the ground or something!!!

At least its not just mine!! Thought Id got to Renault and get it checked, but then theyd have to know about all my mods!!

yeah standard 15" on mine too. Glad to see im not the only one because it really feels awful, like you can actully feel the pad on the disc through the brake pedal, as if your as one with the machine. god only knows what the passengers think when that happens. you can also get this while driving fast and slowing down fast and hitting a bump in the road.
