Strange Engine Sound On Power

  107 Track Car & C4
When I put my foot down, not even heavily, there is a weird squeling/high pitched noise coming from the engine. It seems to have become a bit louder recently too, I can hear it over the Induction Kit. I had the same sound when I had my Focus, but never got to bottom of it.

Could it possibly be a fault with the Cambelt as it was only done less than 2 years ago (16k) by K-Tec.

Any help would be appreciated, sorry if it is a bit vague as I'm not sure how to describe it!

Cheers, I will give that a go. I'm sure it wasn't like this when I put the IK on about 4 months ago, the whistle seems to have got louder over the past 6 weeks I'd say.

Just to update this, I think I've finally sorted the annoying squealing sound that I had when I put my foot down. Took the induction pipe off and cleaned everything up and put new jubilee clips on and tightened everything back up. All I can seem to hear now is the engine and induction kit :). Hopefully it'll last now!

The standard induction hose is looking quite tired now, so I'm going to order myself a nice, black Samco Induction Bend.

I never tried putting the standard airbox back on, but if it does come back, I will give that a go.

The sound is back!

Going to K-Tec tomorrow for the rear brakes, so I shall get them to have a listen and see what they think it is.

Went to K-Tec to have my brakes done today, and ended up getting the water pump done at the same time as it was making the car sound awful!

Had a new Aux Belt and Pulley at the same time but I have been told the sound is coming from where the Cat meets the Manifold, so going back again soon to have that done. A cheap fix luckily!
