Strange "Rasping" noise at 3000rpm on 182. Can anyone offer advice?

Car  Black 182 Cup
My 05 182 has developed a rasping noise at 3000rpm. It sounds like its coming from the passenger side somewhere between the footwell and engine bay.

Its almost as though there is a piece of paper trapped in the airflow which vibrates at a certain volume.

Please note there is no change to power.

Can anyone suggest what it might be?

Is it an easy job for a normal garage to do and roughly what is the cost?
Also how long can it be left before it does some real damage?

bit of fire gum for £3 will sort it
i hate the sound of a blowin exhaust
best thing to do is first thing when you start it up when its cold
look underneath and see if theres any leakeges of fumes ull spot em straight away

I replaced mine with a 405 backbox flange, welded back to the original cat.

Worked perfectly.

However since then i have removed the CAT entirely and swapped it out for a pipe.

It could also be a heat shield come loose, check those.
