Strange smell

When I take the 182 into higher revs, you can smell it. When the windows are open, the smell is a lot stronger. It's comming from the engine. I'm sure I have an oil leak, so can it be the smell of oil? Can't describe the smell

i had a problem with mine, in that there was a leak from the head, and slowly dripped onto the exhaust manifold. As it got hot, it burnt itself off. Never smelled anything though, more visual?

Worth checking at the back of the engine and seeing if there is a leak there?

Apart from that, take the intake manifold off, and see what you can see?

I think there is something wrong with the clutch, but it doesn't smell like that and the smell is always when I take it into higher revs

Maybe manifold in engine bay is vibrating and heating something surrounding it? Rubber belt catching something? oil burning?

Why don't you go for a drive heat the car up then lift the bonnet keep it on high revs and find out where the smell is coming from.

May just be in your imagination

did you fill up oil , maybe little over level ?

Since i put in a different synth oil i get a smell too..
