Strengthening veins on willy engine

  Mrs' valver! &myV6 veccy
Just bought a willy engine on ebay. However, i want to 100% make sure it's a willy engine before driving 250 miles to collect it!

I know that you can identify them via the extra strengthening veins on the back of the block, and have asked the current owner to get pictures for me.

He's sent me pictures, but i'm not sure what i'm looking for if i'm honest.

This is the pic he's sent:

Does the starter need to be removed to tell properly, or can people tell?

Cheers,

looks about right tbh.

get him to check the metal plate on the front as well tho. should be a f7r 700

yep thats an f7r ( williams engine ) you can see one of the vains just behind the starter motor, its has a yellow dot painted on half of it. the rest of the vains will run along the back of the starter and the starter will need to be removed to see them.

Yup it looks to be right. As said above you would need to remove the starter motor to see teh rest of the veins but you can jsut see one of them to the right edge of the starter motor.
