Stress/Strain on 182 Engine

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Hi Guys/Girls,
My brother mentioned something to me that got me thinking:S ... I on average cover anywhere between 800-1000 miles a week,75% motorway miles. Now due to the high speed limit here i generally cruise at 85-90MPH which is around the 4500-5000RPM,with quick blasts upto 6000RPM. I've also been driving fairly hard on normal roads too, reguarly taking it over 6000RPM towards the redline.
How well does the engine stand up to a lot of high revs? Do i need to calm down?Or am i being a big wet nelly and need to get on with driving the 182 hard???;)
Answers on a postcard pls!!!!

Harder you drive it the faster it will get.

IMO Renault woud've done all sorts of tests pushing it. Should be able to take a hammering but obviously bits will wear faster and need replacing quicker.

I would have thought the engine was designed to be used like this. As long as its warmed up, i cant see any problem with it. Put it this way, as soon as mine gets warmed up, it gets driven to 7000 revs as regularly as I can (although obviously it helps if you can get out of the town for this).

Agree...just make sure it's warmed up properly and you should be okay.
