Stripping - a mod?? affect insurance??

Car  mk1 ph2 1.4
My mate has just stripped the back of his clio out, down to the bare metal, seats, spare, carpet, panels etc and he's wondering if this would count as a modification and would it affect the insurance policy at all??
any ideas??

tell insurance. only put mine up by a fiver a month. nothing compared to that you could be technically void of insurance.

so it definetely counts as a mod and would breach the insurance policy? what if hes under 25 and on direct line, i.e no mods allowed... i mean its not exactly a subtle mod :S

i mean what if you needed to transport something in the back and took the seats out? and taking out the spare isnt ilegal so... what are the limits i suppose??

tbh a bit of a vague area. while on the topic of insurance, are uprated panel filters a breach on insurance? i mean what about 'i bought the wrong brand'. insurance seems very iffy indeed lol

and while im at it what about mods that improve the handling and braking such as uprated disks, pads and things like strut braces, or say sports suspension? surely they make the car handle better, and therefore safer
so they should really be looked at favourably???

cheers again!

Anything that is not standard is a mod'. You may want to be selective with certain very small things ie. panel filter, just plead ignorance and say you never knew what was in that box as you bought the car how it is. Major things like springs, strut braces, exhausts should all be declared as the risk is far too high but so should the panel filter strictly speaking.
