Strut Braces

Probably due to not having an engine in the front, the engine mounts would take up a bit of that flex I'd imagine!

I've never seen under the bonnet on a V6 though in all honesty.

Dan, a new setup that has brand new suspension components is a brilliant setup, 99% of Clio's will be running on old perished 10 year old rubbers by now.

you mean boot

true yeah... my cars getting on a bit! :L although its old it hasnt done that many miles tbh only 47k :D

I was genuinely amazed when I drove one I'd just bought that had new shocks and wishbone rubbers and all ball joints done. Some decent tyres and it handled aswell as my one before on coilovers.

was talking to my friend about coilovers and stuff...

do people just change the standard springs and shocks over for the coilovers and it works ok?

cos the lower you go the more stress your putting on the whole system...

has anyone had any trouble from it?

You can go fairly low and not have mechanical problems with Clios, driveshafts life span will decrease though.

Mines nearly as low as you can go and I get on all right! Just had a few in the past go!

Strut braces should be welded in or next best thing PM kit.

The clue is in the name 'strut brace' - 3 self tappers dont brace - they flex. Save weight and chuck it in the bin.

The rear is even worse. The aftermarket struts all bolt on the struts which are rubber mounted. Enough said... Bin them all...
